Omnia’s research initiatives are directed at creating New Zealand solutions to New Zealand problems.

Omnia’s Research and Development Programme, headed by Dr Adrian Spiers, embraces the principles of quality, sustainability, environmental acceptance, economic benefit and operator safety. Omnia has in house capabilities including plant pathology, chemical analysis/development, formulation and manufacturing.

Omnia are proud to have developed a new range of elicitor based fungicides and pruning wound dressings which focus on plant health:

• OMNIGEL – A new generation fungicide for the control of European Canker on pipfruit.
• SPOTLESS – A broad spectrum multi-component product containing fungicides, bactericide and elicitors for the control of Black spot, powdery mildew, Sclerotinia and Psa.
• GREENSEAL ULTRA ™ – Pruning wound treatment incorporating a tough, rubber-like acrylic resin, powerful fungicides and bactericide for superior disease control.

The latest from the R&D department is a surfactant product:

• OMNIWETT – An exceptional wetter/spreader containing biofortifers and biostimulants that allows the plant to defend itself

The business has also developed a plant health range based on elicitor technology:

• CALCIUM PLUS – A high contrite calcium product giving superior calcium uptake and providing disease resistance
• HI YIELD PLUS – a NPK formulation strengthened with elicitor for disease management during the critical fruitfill stage

Omnia also developed the STEMEX® RANGE incorporating:

• STEMSHOT KF2 – Stem capsule for the management of Armillaria in kiwifruit
• STEMSHOT AV1 & AV2 – Stem injections for Phytophthora in avocados
• STEMCAP PN 2 – Stem capsule for Silver leaf management in pip and stone fruit
• STEMCAP GN 2 – Stem capsule for the management of Eutypa Lata in grapes
